Awarded 96 points, a Gold medal and Champion Shiraz / Syrah in the New World Wine Awards. The practice of adding the white grape, Viognier, to Shiraz started in the Northern Rhone region of France, where it was found to add a floral note to the wine and make the mouthfeel more rounded and soft. This wine shows how well the idea worked and why it was adopted in Australia. Viognier has added to the Shiraz flavour, creating a dark rich black and blueberry intensity with underlying floral and oak characters. This is our Champion Shiraz and it’s easy to see why.
